More Than a Project

Wow… what a final semester of college at Concordia University-St. Paul. Between my senior thesis exhibition and graduation, it’s been a whirlwind. I’m so proud to have graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors!

My senior thesis project was filled with late nights, lots of trips to Michael’s, and plenty of time spent remembering special moments.

The Memory Makers Club is a branding kit that encourages people to make memories and build stronger relationships with the people they love. It includes a 72-page, Minnesota specific guidebook full of ideas for things to do—whether you’re staying at home, going out, or just looking for ways to enjoy the little things. The guidebook was mostly inspired by the adventures I had with my grandpa.

The kit also includes a scrapbook and a camera to help you capture and write about each memory so you can look back on them in the future. There are also conversation cards labeled “Deep,” “Deeper,” and “Deepest.” These are meant to help people have more meaningful conversations and get to know each other on a deeper level. Some of my favorite memories are from simply sitting around the dining room table, talking and laughing with family.

This project helped me work through my grief after losing my grandpa. It gave me the space to honor our time together and hold onto all the joy we shared. I’ll always be grateful for that.

Finally, I’ll leave you with this:
“The best memories aren’t the ones we remember—they’re the ones we choose to create.”
